CloudBackup is incorporated in an Ethics Committee approved project from the RACGP and also holds the equivalent US HIPAA compliance.
Under this, two of the required Implementation Specifications are:
A) Unique User Identification
B) Emergency Access Procedure
CloudBackup satisfies both of these criteria as it requires a user name/password combination to access the user interface, and a separate password to decrypt previously encrypted data (encrypted with 448 bit encryption keys). CloudBackup allows for data recovery to any computer thereby satisfying the second required condition as well. In a nutshell, with CloudBackup, a health care practitioner can ensure that he/she alone has access to patient data and that this data can be recovered (from a location to which it was previously backed up) in case a disaster strikes the practitioner's physical premises.
There are currently several medical sites using CloudBackup to protect data from Medical Director, Best Practice & Clinical Photography.
